Missio Dei Panamá
Over the last few decades, the country has seen explosive growth in population, business, technology, banking, and the arts. Just the right ingredients for a modern thriving metropolis.
We have been praying for an opportunity to be God's faithful witnesses and establish his Kingdom in Panamá. Urban ministries are essential in today's world, as people increasingly make their way to urban centers the need for an effective proclamation of the Gospel is imperative to changing lives. We are partnering with the local church to meet the needs of the residents of Panama city.
Panama was inhabited by several indigenous tribes prior to settlement by the Spanish in the 16th century. After seceding from Columbia the country saw an influx of immigrants from all over the world as the new construction of the world famous Panama canal began. The nation was troubled with a series of dictatorships in the 70's and 80's.
Today Panama is the Switzerland of the Americas. The capital city is a vibrant hub for international commerce and banking.
Missio Dei Panama is an effort of the greenhouse movement and the Anglican Church in North America to proclaim the Gospel of Jesus Christ in Panamá.
